Why does it matter?

Local Services Ads appear at the top of the page on Google Search and the local services site when someone in your area searches for services related to your ad. The rankings for local search depend on a number of factors BUT providers with the Google Screened or Google Guaranteed verification statuses will rank above those without them.

Google Guaranteed can also help businesses gather more leads. Having that certified badge on Google makes users feel confident that your business is knowledgeable and able to provide them with the answers they’re searching for.

Potential customers are likely to vet more than one business or website ahead of making a purchase. Being Google Guaranteed can help them feel confident that you’re the right business for them.

How do I get verified?

In order to get Google Screened or Google Guaranteed, you must complete a multi-step verification process that includes background checks, providing proof of insurance, an interview, and specific numbers of reviews and ratings.

If a customer has an unsatisfactory experience with a Google Guaranteed service provider and booked the service from a local service ad, then they are eligible for up to a $2,000 refund in the US paid by Google. The various badges give your business increased credibility and your customer more confidence to give you a call.

How do I get it?

The service is only offered for specific industries, verticals, and areas currently. Google Guaranteed doesn’t charge for views or clicks, but businesses pay for each direct sales lead they receive through local service ads.
