“We should go after our dreams and not be apologetic about it, but it’s scary. Whether you want to work or not, you have to do what makes you a fuller person. You have to love yourself,” – Catherine Reitman, Workin’ Moms
Meet businesswoman Alexa Williams, the founder and CEO of Glass Ivy, a marketing agency that specializes in helping businesses create effective marketing strategies, increase their online presence and help brands take their success to the next level.
Alexa is a wife and mom of two living in Fayetteville, AR. She is passionate about reading, nature, and art. Alexa loves a good true crime documentary or podcast, game nights, charcuterie boards, and lots of coffee. She hopes to someday own Silkie Chickens and have a Christmas Tree farm.
Professional Background
Alexa graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Supply Chain. During her time in undergraduate studies, she was involved in campus organizations. She held various jobs along with a marketing internship.
After graduating, she entered the workforce in Human Resources. Working in HR gave her a better understanding of a business’s inner workings and how leadership and culture greatly impact overall morale and business success.
Being the businesswoman she is, Alexa then moved into customer service and technology. At this point, she decided to exercise her creative ability and self-taught graphic design skills to improve the user experience for her customers. She combined her passion for art, skillset in technology, and understanding of business to segway into a position she was passionate about.
Alexa worked in graphic design for a couple of years but later decided to merge business and creativity again. She pitched and created a marketing department at her respective company. From there she became Director of Marketing and Design and was able to build a small team of marketing-minded employees.
Her team was effective at improving the user experience and user interface of software solutions. They continued to gain a better understanding of the agency’s marketing performance and introduced new practices and solutions to internal and client-facing products and services.
While working full-time, Alexa decided to return to school and earn her Master of Business Administration through the University of Central Arkansas. During this time, she decided to take the first major step into a life of entrepreneurship. She left her position as a Director of Marketing and Design to follow her dream and start Glass Ivy.
Glass Ivy was founded at the end of 2017 and Alexa graduated with her MBA in May of 2018.
