Commonly Asked Questions About Our Marketing Services
What’s the best marketing strategy for my business?
There’s no one size fits all strategy for marketing. The best strategy for you depends on your goals, target audience, industry, and budget. A comprehensive marketing plan that includes a mix of tactics such as content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and paid digital advertising can help you achieve your objectives. Our strategies at Glass Ivy are catered to our clients, their industry, their competitors, and much more. They are custom and not out of the box solutions. We formulate your ideal strategy during our initial discovery and planning phase.
Why is marketing important?
According to Marcus Sheridan, author of They Ask You Answer, on average, 70% of consumers make the decision to buy a product or service before they talk to a company. This is why marketing is important. By having a clear brand presence, message, and suite of easy-to-find digital collateral that your ideal client finds useful, you’ve already jump started your sales efforts. Have the answers to solve your client’s problems. Investing in marketing your business is important because it lays the foundation for success and sales.
How do I measure the effectiveness of my marketing campaigns?
Have clearly defined KPIs and ensure you have the infrastructure and tools in place to track them. These KPIs should accurately capture your baseline performance as well as changes and growth. To measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns you can use a variety of KPI metrics such as website traffic, leads generated, conversion rates, social media engagement, email open and click-through rates, and return on investment (ROI). It’s important to set clear goals and track your performance regularly to identify areas of improvement and adjust your strategies accordingly.
Some of the tools we incorporate to ensure we are properly tracking effectiveness include Ad Manager, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Email Management Systems, SEO Tracking Systems (like Brightlocal and Semrush), Meta Business Suite, as well as proprietary tools.
Should I outsource my marketing efforts?
It depends. Outsourcing your marketing can be a good option if you don’t have the resources or expertise to handle it in-house. A marketing agency, like Glass Ivy, can provide a range of services from website design to social media management and everything in between. Key considerations when deciding whether or not to outsource your marketing services may include: how much time you have available, your level of marketing expertise, the size of your business (is there someone available to help), your budget, the difficulty or learning curve associated with your products or services, how saturated your market is, what in-house resources you have (design, development, video production, analyst, copywriter, etc), and ultimately how comfortable you are relying on an outside source.
Hiring an agency with a team full of experts can save you time and money and give you stellar results. You know you’re getting a team of experts who focus solely on marketing and, if you pick the right agency, your results will reflect that. When you work with Glass Ivy, our marketing efforts will align with your goals and budget to create the best marketing campaigns for your business.
Why is marketing so expensive?
Marketing can be expensive for a number of reasons, including the cost of advertising, the time and resources required to create high-quality content and campaigns, and the need to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends. With marketing, your goal is to be the best performer. The most recognized. The easiest to find. If you want to be first, you have to work hard or be willing to pay an expert for their time and effort.
However, the cost of marketing can vary depending on the size of your business, your goals, the specific tactics you choose to use, and the agency you partner with. From website design to content marketing, we have several different packages. It’s up to you to decide which one fits your budget and business goals.
How often does someone from Glass Ivy meet with me?
Initially, when we on-board a new client we’ll meet either in person (if you’re local) or over video chat. During this call we will get to know the respective team members, set timelines, review goals, and go over our discovery process. Over the next two weeks we will collaborate with you to gain a deeper understanding of your business and target audience.
After the discovery phase, we move into the legwork of the marketing engagement.
Since marketing engagements take time to produce measurable results, we strive to plan for progress meetings on a monthly basis. For larger projects or projects with quick iterations, we may require more frequent meetings with you.
To regularly communicate with clients we utilize email and phone calls. We also have the option to include clients in our Slack channel if necessary.
Our team may be small but we care about our clients. Making sure you have everything you need to be successful is our top priority.
What kind of feedback can I give as a customer?
What we are discussing here is a change in scope or an adjustment to the initial marketing plan and/or strategy. Glass Ivy is flexible to an extent. Our aim is to help you achieve your marketing goals. In order to do that, we provide a strategy and plan of execution. However, we understand that things pop up! Accordingly, we are open to adding a project or adjusting a service offering as long as it is in line with the overarching strategy and goal of the engagement.
Do I get anything for free if I work with you?
For every marketing engagement we enter into you’ll receive a free discovery phase. During this phase of the project we spend time researching your current baseline performance, your competitors, your target audience, what keywords you should be targeting, and formulate a robust marketing strategy for each project.
We are of the opinion that in order to be effective, we have to have a full understanding of you and your business before we do any content creation, campaigns, ads, etc. Because of this, we include our planning and strategy portion for free.
What kind of ROIs can I receive after working with Glass Ivy?
Marketing is a long-term investment, and realistically results may not be immediate. Your ROI will vary depending on the industry, competition, and the target audience.
Each type of conversion will be tracked differently. Ad conversions are tracked through their perspective channels (Social Platform or Search Engine). Form conversions are tracked through customer CRM systems (if in place) or tools like Mouseflow.
Return on investment for Pay per Click (PPC) advertising can vary. The factors with the most influence on effectiveness include: platform used, demographic information incorporated, ad format, budget, industry, and level of competition for the target audience.
The average ROI is 200-300% which translates to $2-3 for every dollar spent. Some companies see much higher returns than this, but some companies see slightly lower yields. For example, Google boasts that for every dollar spent with them you’ll receive $8 in return even though this is extremely high.
Glass Ivy typically sees a minimum of 280% ROI for PPC campaigns.
With social media advertising, your return on investment can also be greatly varied. The factors with the most influence on effectiveness include: social media platforms, targeting options, ad format, budget, and level of competition within the industry.
However, most researchers and surveys agree that low-end ROI is only 20-40% for social media ads whereas high-end ROI is 120-200% no matter the industry or level of expertise.
With our expert team, we would anticipate seeing a minimum return of $2.50 earned on every $1.00 spent.
